Our Employees
Each day, our nearly 500 employees in Orange County work together to ensure your waste and recycling needs are met. We are proud of their hard work and want to share news about their accomplishments - check back to this page regularly to get to know some of our great employees.
Jose A. Velasquez, Relief and Residential Driver - Santa Ana
Jose A. Velasquez, a relief and residential driver based at the Santa Ana hauling site, makes sure he never misses a stop. During WMOC's "Service Machine Blitz" in May and June, employees of the company were challenged to meet and beat Waste Management’s Service Machine program metrics that help us deliver the high level of service that our customers expect. In this two-week period, Jose did not miss any stops – or, in company terms, had no "missed pick ups" – upholding the Service Machine standard of having one or less missed pick ups per 1,000 customer stops.
For this achievement, Jose was one of 1,600 drivers across the country entered into a prize drawing. He is the winner of a brand new 51-inch television in recognition of his service to his customers. "We are very proud of Jose's commitment to providing excellent service to his customers and are thrilled that he is being recognized for this commitment," said Tom Koutroulis, District Manager. "All of our employees make customer service a priority every day, and we appreciate Jose's leadership in customer satisfaction."
Pedro Parra, Residential Driver - Mission Viejo
Pedro was recognized on Feb. 23, 2006, by the City of Mission Viejo at the Mission Viejo Annual Breakfast Outlook 2006 for his outstanding work as a residential driver and service provider in the city. Pedro has worked for Waste Management, covering all lines of business, for 10 years. His family and managers joined him in celebrating this wonderful achievement. Jose F. "Paco" Gonzalez, Roll-off Driver - South Orange County
Paco has been a professional driver for Waste Management for more than 31 years - achieving this tenure accident-free. In a job as demanding as being a professional driver for the solid waste industry, which requires much attention to detail while loading and unloading large containers and also maneuvering through Southern California traffic, this is an impressive accomplishment. Congratulations to Paco for being a model driver and Waste Management employee!
