Waste Management Helps Mission Viejo Become a Community of Character
MISSION VIEJO, Feb. 17, 2006 - Supporting the City of Mission Viejo in its goal of becoming a Community of Character, Waste Management of Orange County this month began displaying the character quality posters on its trucks that service the city.
“As a long-time service provider in the city, we are proud to participate in community initiatives that help improve not only the city as a whole, but also residents and employees individually,” said David Ross, Senior District Manager. “As people see our trucks throughout the city, they will be reminded each month of the current character quality and what it means to the City of Mission Viejo."
Beginning in Sept. 2003, the city has highlighted on a monthly basis a character quality that represents the qualities that are important to the city's residents. By focusing on these qualities, the city leadership hopes to achieve the program's mission statement: "To create a positive environment in our
community by using a framework that
builds good character values and assets,
thereby making Mission Viejo a stronger, healthier and safer
community."
The character qualities are:
- Responsibility
- Respect
- Thankful
- Caring
- Perseverance
- Unity
- Integrity
- Service
- Moral Courage
- Citizenship
- Fairness
- Self Control
