Disposal Rates Change at Waste Management Transfer Station in Orange
ORANGE, March 16, 2006 - The Waste Management Orange Transfer Station, located at 2050 N. Glassell St. in the city of Orange, revised its fee schedule, effective March 15.
The minimum charge is now $18 for up to 700 pounds of material, plus applicable fees. The “per ton” charge for green waste, demolition waste or trash is $46 per ton, plus applicable fees.
Previously, the transfer station charged a minimum of $28 and had a “per ton” charge of $43.
The Waste Management Orange Transfer Station is open Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Saturday from 6 a.m. to 2 p.m. The facility accepts materials including yard waste, furniture, trash, construction debris, televisions, computer monitors and appliances (including those containing refrigerant); it does not accept used oil, batteries, paint, chemicals, medical waste or hazardous waste.
The transfer station also has a buyback center where recyclables such as aluminum, glass and plastic can be brought in exchange for cash. The buyback center is open from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. on weekdays and 7 a.m. to noon on Saturday.
